Being A Great Mum

There are rules for being a good mom. These rules can be just good common sense or something that has been passed down as important from mother to daughter. We can all use a reference point, so I thought it might be nice to make a list. 1.Feed your children: The most important step to motherhood is making sure your children are fed. That is the basic job of a mother. It is important to pay attention to what they are eating as well and feed them food that is healthy. Try to cut down on sweet snacks. Try to have quick foods as well as meals. Have the children sit at the table to eat most meals and teach them proper table manners. Make sure they have food available when traveling and at school. 2.Clothe your children: This includes making sure they not only have clothing, but clothing that is clean and well fitting. Also making sure they are not missing important items of clothing like shoes, especially when going out in public. It is also important to cover their feet in the winter, even if it is warm in the house because we may not realize how cold the floor is. This can prevent illness. 3.Medical Needs: The children need their regular checkup at the Doctor as well as Dental work. It is important to keep records of their medical history, especially immunization records. The doctor may have a copy but a capable mother would keep her own record of the immunizations. You may need this for enrollment into school, qualification for going on group trips, various events. 4.Education: The parents are in charge of the child's education. This goes above and beyond sending them to public school. Reading to your child is perhaps the best thing you can do for them. It is a productive way to spend time together and it teaches the child to love learning and create a habit. It is also important to teach your child at home. 5.Set limits on the child's behavior and impose consequences: decide up front to be the one who is in charge. It does the child no service if they think they are the ones in charge. 6.Bathe and Groom Your Child: Make sure you are brushing your child's teeth daily, clipping their nails, cutting and combing their hair, making sure their face and hands are clean 7. Pray for your children
